Allen Alexander  MInstKT

"I am the Head of Operations for Research & Knowledge Transfer at the University of Exeter.  My role has been to bring together and develop under one service capability the offices for Enterprise Development, Research Development and Knowledge Transfer.  Prior to this I established the Knowledge Transfer Office and grew its portfolio of project based work from around £200k to over £4M in around 2 years.  My work in the University administration departments takes up 4 days per week and I have research interests within the University of Exeter Business School where I am researching a PhD focusing on Knowledge Transfer between HE and businesses along with teaching project & programme management.  Before taking this administrative buy-out I worked within the School of Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics as a lecturer in engineering management, teaching project and programme management and quality management.  I am a Civil Engineer by first discipline and ran an extensive portfolio of water industry infrastructure projects for 10 years prior to returning to HE at Exeter to gain an MSc in Engineering Management."
