THEME: Engaging Arts and Humanities with Knowledge Exchange
Background
This is the second of a series of research seminars to be organised by
the Institute of Knowledge Transfer (IKT) for academic researchers,
knowledge transfer (KT) practitioners and business to explore research
into approaches into developing a better understanding of KT by
considering particular themes or topics in depth.
Our keynote speaker is Clare Morgan, Fellow of Kellogg College and
director of the University's graduate programme in creative writing
looking at what poetry brings to business
Other speakers include:
• Derek Hales, Principal Lecturer in Digital Media Design at the
University of Huddersfield on the artist in the science laboratory;
• Philip Morris, York and Caroline Hyde from Anglia Ruskin University on Knowledge Transfer and the Humanities;
• Professor Andrew Linn, Sheffield on managing KT in the Arts and Humanities.
Admission to the seminar is free to IKT members and £30 is payable by

Call for papers
The seminar will include presentation of papers. PhD students,
academics, researchers, KT practitioners, policy-makers are invited to
participate in the seminar. Papers or presentation are welcome on
relevant case studies and research experiences providing a critical
overview of approaches and methodologies on the creation of value
market and social learning; co-production i.e. the dialogue between
those looking at the developments of markets and those engaged in
technological development.

Full papers are requested to be submitted by 31 May 2009.
The IKT aims to develop an on-line journal and/or a book from this
series of Research Seminars which will provide an opportunity to
disseminate their research and papers. A special edition of IKT’s
newsletter, Exchange’ will be produced at the end of the seminar series
to reach a wider audience of KT practitioners. Presentations and
relevant information will also be made available on IKT’s website at:
www.ikt.org.uk.
